Prof. Chinwe Veronica Anunobi, the National Librarian and Chief Executive Officer of the National Library of Nigeria has made a call for the promotion and preservation of indigenous languages in order to preserve the nation’s family heritage.

Prof. Anunobi made this call at an event organized to commemorate the International Mother Language Day, celebrated on the 21st of February, 2022.

Speaking further at the event which was held under the theme: Using Technology for Multilingual Learning: Challenges and Opportunities, she observed that “so many families, cultures, institutions, socio-political and socio-cultural issues have gone past us without remembrance”. It is therefore...
