The National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NCCSALW) has criticized the proliferation of small arms and light weapons in Nigeria. The NCCSALW, established by former President Muhammadu Buhari in line with Article 24 of the ECOWAS Convention, aims to collaborate with stakeholders to check unauthorized access to small weapons and strengthen peace and security in the country. The center aims to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to combat the destruction of lives and property caused by the proliferation of illicit weapons.
