The Sokoto State Command of the Nigerian Immigration Service has assured the public of its strong dedication to strengthening border security in response to emerging security challenges posed by the Lakurawa sect, whose members frequently enter the country through illegal routes. During a courtesy visit by the state council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, the state immigration comptroller explained that the service is actively managing borders, monitoring the movement of foreigners, and expanding its presence across all twenty-three local government areas of the state. Emphasizing that security agencies are staying ahead of the threat through close collaboration with the military and other forces, the comptroller also called for continued media partnership to foster safety and peace across the state.
