Governor Seyi Makinde’s warning regarding the influx of fleeing northern bandits into Oyo State, security forces across the South West region have significantly heightened joint measures to counteract the potential threat. In response, regional security heads convened emergency strategy meetings, while state police commands and local security outfits like Amotekun intensified forest surveillance and border patrols, particularly in vulnerable boundary areas. State authorities and traditional regional leaders emphasized that all governors in the region must remain vigilant, collaborate with military forces, and proactively address the security challenge to safeguard lives, property, and local stability.
