The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nigeria is facing a crisis as party leaders continue to give conflicting versions of the controversial Ondo State governorship primary. APC National Vice-Chairman Hilliard Eta criticised Pius Akinyelure's claim that the party's National Chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun, National Secretary Mai Buni', and National Organising Secretary Osita Izunaso were responsible for the "rigging" of the primary election. Eta dismissed Akinyelure's claim as false and an attempt to please an unnamed benefactor. Eta also dismissed the claim that members overwhelmingly voted in favour of the adoption of the appeals committee report. Eta explained that the party's national chairman almost made a procedural error by asking those at the meeting to vote, and that it was agreed that the only report by the Governor Badaru Abubakar-led governorship primary election committee was left for adoption. Eta criticized Akinyelure for starting a fight because his preferred candidate didn't win the election and urged him to go back to Ondo himself with his team and the candidate he prefers.

Nigerian Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has proposed that President Bola Tinubu's administration remove electricity subsidies to ensure effective energy utilization in the country. Adelabu expressed concerns over the poor electricity supply situation in Nigeria, caused by numerous issues including outstanding subsidy debts. He advocated for Nigeria to migrate to a full cost-reflective tariff regime if the federal government cannot pay for subsidies owed to marketers. Adelabu visited the Olorunsogo Power Generating Plant in Ogun State and the Omotosho Generating Plant in Ondo State as part of his nationwide inspection visit to power installations of the federal government. He also stated that the National Independent Power Plants (NIPPs) are currently suffering under-capacity utilization of below 25% due to gas supply constraints. Adelabu questioned what can be done to support these power plants to operate at impressive capacity, so that power supply will improve nationwide. Other recent news includes 723 schools closed in 9 states over insecurity, IDPs, and others, and the shutdown of the internet in Senegal amid a political crisis.

Ondo State governor-elect Chief Rotimi Akeredolu stated that he did not acknowledge Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in his victory speech due to the expediency of doing so. He acknowledged President Muhammadu Buhari and the National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, as the party's leaders. Akeredolu thanked the President and the leader of the party profusely for the leadership leading to the election. He also thanked the chairman for standing by the truth and for his position on the matter that led to the election. He stated that the party structure is clear, with the leadership represented by Chief John Odigie-Oyegun. He also mentioned that Tinubu remained one of the party's leaders, noting that he had sent a congratulatory message to him after winning the election. Akeredolu said he would not deliberately probe the administration of outgoing governor Olusegun Mimiko but would not look back if he stumbled upon established cases of wrongdoing.
