Vice President Kashim Shettima will represent President Bola Tinubu at the 15th BRICS summit in Johannesburg, South Africa, from August 22-24. The event, attended by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Brazilian President Luiz Lula da Silva, and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will focus on trade and investment facilitation, sustainable development, innovation, and global governance reform. The summit will also address global geopolitics, trade, and infrastructure development. The BRICS group, consisting of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, aims to restructure the global political, economic, and financial architecture to be fair, balanced, and representative.
