Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) has slated ita Town Hall Meeting for the North-West geo-political zone at the Tahir Guest Palace (Hotel), Kano. The Nigerian Guild Editors announced its plans to hold town hall meetings across the six geo-political zones, kicking off the meeting in the South-West zone last November in Lagos. In a statement by its president, Mustapha Isah and the general secretary, Iyobosa Uwugiaren, in Abuja, the professional body of all the editors in Nigeria. With a theme: "Agenda Setting for Sustainable Democratic Culture", the guild said the objective of the meeting, which is being supported by the United States (US) Embassy in Nigeria, is to assess the media performance in consolidating Nigeria's democratic-citizns' verdict and outlining media agenda for the future.

Buhari warns police officers not to misuse vehicles and equipment. President Muhammad Buhari inaugurated and handed over 200 Buffalo branded operational vehicles, bulletproof vests, protective helmets, medical and other security equipment worth over N8.7 billion to the Nigerian Police Force purchased by the Nigerian Police Trust Fund (NPTF). Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to implement additional financial sanctions against the Niger Republic's military junta and their associates. The CBN is implementing these sanctions under the authority of the ECOWAS bloc. Nigeria has already cut off electricity transmission to its northern neighbors to pressurize the military to reinstate ousted President Mohamed Bazoum. The President's spokesman maintains that the ultimatum given to the military Junta in the Niger Republic is not a Nigerian mandate and that the ECOWAS response to the military coup in Niger has been and will remain devoid of ethnic and religious sentiments and considerations. The Niger coup leaders vowed to resist external pressure to reinstate ousted President Mohamed Bazoum after ECOWAS imposed sanctions and Western allies suspended aid. The junta informed ECOWAS that it cannot host a delegation from the West African regional bloc. The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has discovered 189 fake companies involved in land racketeering in Abuja, Nigeria. The discovery followed a request from the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) for information on a non-existing firm that applied for allocation. The CAC discovered a racket involving inter-agency compromise and apprehended two suspects, including a lawyer, and identified a cartel involving staff of Abuja Geographical Information System (AGIS), lawyers, and the commission. The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, vowed to step on toes in the collection of ground rents from defaulting property owners and warned defaulters of ground rents to take advantage of a two-week window to offset their outstanding liabilities.
