In 2024, the first full year of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, Nigeria implemented several key policy reforms, legislative milestones, and security initiatives aimed at national economic renewal and institutional development. Under Tinubu’s governance vision, the administration launched social programs including the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, which supported over 300,000 tertiary students, and the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation, alongside the 2024 Electricity Act empowering state governments and a Supreme Court ruling enhancing local government autonomy. Federal Account Allocation Committee disbursements reached 1.727 trillion Naira in a single allocation cycle, while energy initiatives saw vehicle conversion centers expand to over 120 through the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative, alongside 5 billion dollars in major deep offshore and gas project investment decisions from partners such as Shell, Total, and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited. Security forces neutralized over 8,000 terrorists and bandits, arrested 11,600 suspects, recovered 10,000 weapons, and rescued roughly 8,000 kidnap victims, while international engagement expanded as Tinubu hosted world leaders and secured hosting rights for the African Energy Bank ahead of the 2025 Budget of Restoration.
