Ahead of the November 11, 2023, Imo governorship election, the candidate of the Action Alliance (AA), Maj. Gen.  Lincoln Ogunewe (rtd) has promised to carry out his campaign based on issues bothering the state. Ogunewe said this in an interaction with UK-based journalists during his strategic consultation with Imo people in the diaspora.

He noted that his campaign will be rancor-free and focus on issues of public interest that will spur Imo people to line up behind him and give him their votes. In a statement in Owerri, the retired general said that in his interactions with the Imo people in various parts of the diaspora, he had always maintained his firm belief in a people-driven society where laws of the land are put in place by the people and for the people. 

Obinna Okwara's seat as the representative for Nkwerre State Constituency has been declared vacant by Kennedy Ibe, speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly. The speaker, Ibe, has left the party three times since he was re-elected to represent Obowo State Constituency in 2019. One of the six MPs the house leadership has suspended since December is OKwara, who last week switched from the APC to the PDP. Ibe made the choice on Wednesday during plenary. The speaker requested that a by-election be held to fill the open seat by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Kennedy Ibe, speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, has vacated Obinna Okwara's position as the representative for the Nkwerre State Constituency. Since he was re-elected to represent the Obowo State Constituency in 2019, the speaker, Ibe, has resigned from the party three times. OKwara, an APC-to-PDP switcheroo who was one of the six MPs the house leadership dismissed in December, is currently a member of the PDP. The decision was made by Ibe on Wednesday during plenary. The speaker asked the Independent National Electoral Commission to hold a by-election to fill the vacant seat

Government of plateau  state, Caleb Mutwang has deployed agro rangers to protrect farmers and their crops in the flashpoints of the recent intercommunal clashes between farmers and herders in Mangu , Barkin Ladi and Riyom local government areas of the state. The agro rangers are specialized trained police personnel, whose deployment  would ensure that thecrops were shielded  from further destruction. the efforts of the famers by cultivating lands in areas that suffered from the unfortunate attacks that resulted in the displacement of numerous famers from thgeir land.,

Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi condemned the recent killings in Plateau state, where over 20,000 Internal Displaced Persons (IDPs) were killed. He celebrated his 62nd birthday in Jos, where he donated N5 million and 100 bags of rice to the victims. Obi promised to partner with the state government and traditional institutions to ensure displaced persons were adequately taken care of. He urged Nigerians to reintegrate displaced persons back into society after losing valuables and loved ones. Obi visited Governor Caleb Muftwang to show support and commiserate with the people of Mangu. He called on security agencies to collaborate and bring perpetrators to justice. Governor Muftwang wished Obi a happy birthday and expressed his determination to stop the unnecessary carnage in Plateau state.

Ambassador George A. Obiozor of Ohanaeze Ndigbo World Wide has accused the PDP of political suicide by abandoning zoning ahead of the 2023 general elections. Governor Samuel Ortom has denied media reports that his committee has thrown the presidential ticket of the party open.
