The Jigawa State Government has expressed deep concern over the unsatisfactory and slow release of financial support to small and medium-scale businesses under a six billion naira partnership agreement with the Bank of Industry. During a State Executive Council meeting, officials noted that despite substantial joint investments—including matching funds and managed arrangements provided by both the state and the bank—the disbursement process has failed to meet its original goal of delivering timely soft loans to local entrepreneurs. In response, the council has directed bank management to speed up loan approvals, requested a comprehensive review of the agreement to ensure smoother access for qualified applicants, and mandated that state oversight committees meet with bank representatives to resolve existing bottlenecks. Additionally, the council approved over 300 million naira for various educational constituency projects across the local government areas, involving the construction and renovation of classrooms, building Islamic schools, and supplying essential learning materials like books, chalk, and school uniforms to improve educational standards throughout the state.
