More than two hundred terrorists were prosecuted and convicted during phase six terrorism trials at the Kainji Detention Facility in Niger State conducted between December 9 and December 13 under the oversight of the Office of the National Security Adviser and the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Chief Lateef Fagbemi, with sentences ranging from the death penalty and life imprisonment to terms of 20 to 70 years for crimes including attacks on women and children, destruction of religious sites, civilian slaughters, and terrorism financing, as praised by National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu and coordinated alongside five Federal High Court judges, the Director of Public Prosecution of the Federation, and the National Counter Terrorism Centre.
