During the second matriculation ceremony of the Nigerian British University, Abia State Governor Alex Otti advised students to combine their academic studies with practical skills, innovative thinking, and leadership abilities to thrive in today's competitive global environment. Represented by the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Professor Uche Uche, Dr Otti disclosed that the state government dedicates twenty percent of its over seven hundred billion Naira annual budget to the education sector and maintains a free education policy to eliminate learning barriers. Meanwhile, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Hakeem Fawehinmi, announced that the institution has expanded its offerings to twenty-four approved courses across five faculties and formally welcomed one hundred and sixty-two new students into twenty-three of those programs. He urged the students to maintain high standards of character and discipline, warning them against cultism, examination malpractice, and other anti-social behaviors while making the most of the university's facilities.
