The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has announced that it will no longer conduct admissions for the Bachelor of Laws programme at eight Nigerian universities for the 2025/2026 academic session. This decision follows a suspension issued by the Council of Legal Education against Kwara State University, Bingham University, Redeemers University, Western Delta University, Taraba State University, Arthur Jarvis University, Alex Ekwueme Federal University, and the Nigerian Police Academy. While the restriction applies strictly to the upcoming session for most of the affected institutions, the suspension at the Nigerian Police Academy in Kano State will span two consecutive academic years, extending through the 2026/2027 session, during which time no law candidates will be admitted.
