Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has denied Senator Dino Melaye's allegation that he planned to kill him. Bello stated that the accusation did not come as a surprise to him, as he believes the police are capable of getting to the root of the allegation and doing justice to it once and for all. He also emphasized that security should never be politicised in the state and that Bello will be properly guided to make informed comments after the report of the investigation.Melaye expressed shock over the attempt on his life and promised not to relent in his fight against corruption, maladministration, impunity, and nepotism. He stated that four days after the attempt, the governor neither called nor visited him to know the state of affairs with him.
