At an end-of-year event celebrating staff contributions, the Chief Medical Director of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital in Bauchi has lamented about the poor and unreliable poor and unreliable electricity, alongside shortages of water and human resources, significantly hinders service delivery. Despite these hurdles and resistance to digital changes, the hospital achieved notable milestones in 2024, including launching electronic health software, establishing an emergency ambulance service, introducing home-based care for elderly patients, providing free cesarean surgeries, expanding infrastructure at the Gubi Campus, and securing an international grant for vaccine clinical trials. Looking forward, the administration is actively pursuing renewable energy and infrastructure solutions while urging staff to remain united and committed to continuous progress.
