The General Officer Commanding, 8 Division of the Nigerian Army, Maj. Gen. Bemgba Koughna, has visited Tidibale community in Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State, assuring residents who were recently displaced by bandit attacks of strengthened and sustained military protection. The visit, described as his first major field engagement since assuming command of the division, comes amid mounting pressure on security forces to stabilise rural settlements across the North-West, a region that has battled banditry, mass abductions and widespread displacement for several years.Security analysts have consistently noted that sustained military presence, effective inter-agency collaboration and active community participation will be essential to consolidating recent gains.Military authorities said the 8 Division would continue to reinforce its deployments and work closely with local stakeholders “to achieve durable peace and security across Sokoto State and the wider North-West.”
