The Ahoada police division of the Rivers State police command, on sunday foiled a supremacy battle between Iceland and Greenland cult group in Udebu community, Ahoada East Local Government Area of the State, Sources said that members of the cult groups had mobilised to engage in a supremacy battle in the community at about 5pm when they were intercepted by the policemen, who acted on a tip off. Another source said that items recovered were AK-47 ammunition which was used by a locally made pistol called fabricated G-3, charms and some other dangerous weapons. Spokesperson for the Rivers state police command, Grace Iringe-Koko has confirmed that three suspected cultists were wounded by the police in Udebu community in exchange of gunfire

Gunmen loyal to wanted David Gift, suspected of killing Superintendent of Police Bako Angbashim, attacked and killed five natives in the Odiemerenyi community in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State. The suspects demanded the release of their sponsors and sympathisers, as well as some chiefs in their custody, before they would cease fire. The community called on the Rivers State Government and security agencies to arrest the wanted cultists, as people in the community and neighboring areas live in fear.
