Nigeria Guild of Editors (NGE) has slated its Town Hall Meeting for the North-West goe-political zone at Tahir Guest Palace (Hotel), Kano. In a statement by its president, Mustapha Isah and the general secretary, Iyobosa Uwugiaren, in Abuja, the professional body of all the editors in Nigeria, said the meeting would provide a platform for the media's stakeholders to remind editors and others media managers of the sacred duties they are tasked to perform by the constitution on behalf of the citizens. With a theme:"Agenda Setting for Sustainable Democratic Culture", the guild said the main objective of the meeting, which is being supported by the United State (US) Embassy in Nigeria, is to assess the media performance i consolidating Nigeria's democracy-citizen verdict and outlining media agenda for the future.

The first-ever Progressive Women Conference was organised by Hajiya Aisha Buhari, the First Lady of Nigeria, in Abuja to talk about gender inclusivity in politics and a bigger role for women in administration. The All Progressives Congress (APC), through Hon. Stella Erhuvwu Okotele, a member of the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), is organising the conference, which has the subject "One voice Women Uniting for Progress." The keynote speech will be given by Mrs. Buhari, and Dr. Jewel Howardd-Taylor, vice president of Liberia, will talk about her conference experiences.
