Cocoa and Plaintain Farmers Association of Nigeria (CPFAN) has concluded plans to establish food processing factories in all the six geopolitical zones in the country. Speaking in Akure, at the second anniversary celebration of the group, the national president, Ayodele Ojo, asked for the assistance of the government for the production of the two crops across states where they thrive. CPFAN commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the supportr given to the group from inception, disclosed that the group demanded N25billion from the Anchor Borrowers Scheme to boost their farms, and  expected the money to be released in May,this  would be shared among members across 26 states in the federation.

Presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratics Party (PDP), Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, has said giving the South East opportunity to produce the next president of Nigeria will stop the agitation for Biafra.He said if he emerged victorious in the 2023 Presidential election,Nigeria would be more united than ever, he said this after meeting with members of the New Nigeria Group and a courtesy visit to the state chapter of Peoples Democratic Party at the weekend. Ohuabunwa said if a South Eastern get to the Presidency he would not actualise Biafra Republic and break Nigeria. Meanwhile Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC) has lamooned Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State over his comments, saying he had poor understading of Nigeria's history. The group urged Bala to note that Nigeria's political arrangement for equity and justice was by geo-political zone description, between the North and the South not between political parties
