Coalition of Arewa Civil Society Organisation (CASCO), a pro-northern organisation, has encouraged the Nigerian Police Force to identify unidentified gunmen in the Southeast so that safeguards can be taken. In a joint statement, its convener Dr. Haruna Jagindi and general secretary Ambassador Danjuma Shettima specifically demanded that the case of Uche Nwosu's kidnapping be made public as well as the identity of those responsible for the murder of Hon. Ahmed Gulak. "Those who authorised the operation be identified, whether within the police hierarchy or among distinguished policemen," they commanded. The situation in Imo State was further exacerbated by the Gestapo-style invasion of an Anglican church during a service in an acclaimed bid to arrest Chief Uche Nwosu, former governorship aspirant in the state.
