The Kebbi State Government recently signed a memorandum of understanding with a private company to establish a major cement factory in the Maiyama local government area, fulfilling a core campaign promise by Governor Nasir Idris to industrialize and transform the local economy. Formalized in Abuja, this historic investment is projected to produce over three million tons of high-quality cement annually while creating twenty thousand direct jobs and twenty-five thousand indirect jobs through advanced technology. State officials emphasize that this milestone highlights the region's rich mineral resources, peaceful environment, and supportive business climate, which are already attracting broader international interest, including potential lithium exploration projects that could generate even more employment opportunities and firmly position the state as a rising hub for solid mineral development.
