Pastor Tunde Bakare, the presiding pastor of Citadel Global Community Church, has expressed concern about the negative effects of the removal of fuel subsidy on Nigerians' living conditions. He urged President Bola Tinubu to fight corruption and improve life for the masses. Bakare advised the President to avoid scapegoating suspended Central Banl of Nigeria (CBN) Governor Godwin Emefiele. He said that the Tinubu administration acted on impulse, and that money has gone into the wrong hands and they are just lining up the pockets of a few elites. Bakare urged the President to focus on fighting corruption and not punishing Nigerians for it. He also urged the President to engage in diplomacy and not be taken for a ride as citizens. Bakare also criticized President Emefiele for making the wrong judgment calls in managing Nigeria's monetary policy but urged him not to be made a scapegoat. He suggested that if Emefiele is found liable for any crime, he should be prosecuted.
