The All Progressives Congress in Kano State has united to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election, with prominent leaders like former National Chairman Umar Ganduje, Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau, Senator Kabiru Gaya, and former Secretary to the Government Suleiman Bichi vowing to win back the state governorship from the New Nigeria Peoples Party. Meeting at a hotel in Abuja, these party leaders praised President Tinubu’s national policy reforms and declared that their political group is completely united and ready to reclaim power in Kano. Even though the party suffered a narrow defeat in the 2023 elections, it has remained incredibly strong and continues to win over new members from rival political factions. Because of President Tinubu's community-focused programs, many influential politicians have crossed over to join their ranks, including Senator Kawu, multiple House of Representatives members, a former Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, and the former secretary to the current Kano State government.
