The federal government must abide by the 35 percent affirmative action, according to an Abuja Federal High Court judgement. Funmi Falana filed the lawsuit on behalf of a number of organisations, including the Women Advocates Research and Documentation Centre, the Vision Spring Initiative, the Women in Politics Forum, the Incorporated Trustees of the Nigerian Women Trust Fund, Women Empowerment Legal Aid, and the Centre for Democracy and Development West Africa.
