The Defence Headquarters announced that security agents arrested over 147 suspected terrorists and criminals while rescuing 39 kidnapped victims over the past week. In the Northeast, troops participating in Operation Hadin Kai captured 26 suspected terrorist collaborators, nabbed 80 additional terrorists—including two high-profile leaders, Abubakar Ahmadu and Saawuan Wuaiyolna, from the military’s wanted list—and freed three captives. During these operations, soldiers recovered vehicles, motorcycles, homemade bombs, and large quantities of clothing materials. Meanwhile, in the South-South region, military forces rescued nine kidnap victims, arrested 19 suspected oil thieves along with nine other criminals, and blocked the theft of crude oil valued at 19.8 million Naira. Additionally, troops located and destroyed 16 illegal oil refining sites and 14 crude oil cooking ovens to clamp down on economic sabotage.
