The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has announced the discovery of a new cannabis strain called "California Loud" in Lagos, following the uncovering of a lab producing the synthetic variant Colorado. The operation resulted in the arrest of a 30-year-old suspect, Stephen Imoh, after extensive surveillance. NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi stated that California Loud is more potent and appealing to young people. He highlighted the dangers of synthetic cannabis, noting the chemical mix used in its production poses health risks, as evidenced by the suspect's skin damage. Despite ongoing efforts against drug trafficking, Nigeria continues to face challenges related to illicit drug use. NDLEA Chairman Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa committed to dismantling drug cartels and ensuring offenders forfeit their assets to the government.
