The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has approved a revised Conditions of Service for its workforce and inaugurated an Artificial Intelligence Research and Integration Team, marking a major step in its efforts to strengthen institutional capacity, improve staff welfare, and enhance service delivery through innovation.In a statement signed by the agency on Tuesday, NiMet announced that it had “concluded a comprehensive review of its Conditions of Service, marking a significant milestone in the Agency’s ongoing efforts to align its human resource framework with contemporary public service standards and its evolving operational mandate.”The agency explained that the review process was anchored on extensive engagement between management and staff unions, emphasising collaboration, dialogue, and consensus-building throughout the exercise. According to NiMet, “the review process was driven by a strong spirit of collaboration between NiMet Management and the recognised staff unions.The agency described the development as another milestone, saying the inauguration “marks another milestone in NiMet’s ongoing efforts to leverage digital technologies and research-driven solutions to deliver world-class meteorological services in Nigeria.”
