Niger's Prime Minister, Ali Mahamane Lamine Zeine, has vowed to survive the sanctions imposed by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) on the country. Military generals in the Niger Republic have vowed to prosecute ousted President Mohamed Bazoum for high treason, slammed by West African leaders for imposing sanctions. ECOWAS imposed sanctions on Niger in response to the coup and has not ruled out using force against the army officers who toppled Bazoum. Niger's military leaders have announced they will prosecute Bazoum for high treason and undermining the country's internal and external security.
