Acting President Yemi Osinbajo reassured Nigerians that the economic hardship caused by the recession will soon be over. Several protests were held in some parts of the country on Monday. In a statement signed by Osinbajo, he commended the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, and his officers for handling the protests with professionalism and respect for citizens' rights. Cabinet ministers have held town hall meetings in eight states, with more to follow. Osinbajo emphasized the importance of improving the economy daily and predicting that the recession will soon be history.
