Survivors of a midnight attack on four farm settlements in the Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State have described how suspected herdsmen invaded their communities in the early hours of Saturday, killing several residents and operating unchallenged for hours. Victims recounted waking up to sudden gunshots, with two survivors testifying that nine people were killed in their camp alone as residents attempted to flee into surrounding bushes and cocoa plantations to save their lives. In response to the tragedy at the settlements, which included Aba Pastor, Aba Sunday, Ademekun Camp, and Aba Alajido Camp, Ondo State Commissioner of Police Afolabi Wilfred visited the scene and hospital survivors, ordering the command's homicide department to conduct a thorough investigation while urging the public to report incidents promptly and verify information to avoid spreading panic.
