The National Library of Nigeria has been accused of promoting ethnic stereotypes and charging an entry fee for an essay competition organised by Alphabetics. This is not true as the National Library does not charge any fee for any of its services or activities, such as the National Readership Promotion Campaign and sensitization workshops. The National Library will continue to render services to the public in accordance with global best practices, across all strata of society.
