Our attention has been drawn to newspaper publications and jingles in the public domain announcing that the National Library of Nigeria is organising a prize for children's literature, the announcement further states that each entry for the prize should be accompanied by an entry fee of N20,000. The general public is hereby informed that the contents of the said publication are false and misleading. For the avoidance of doubt, we want the public to know that The National Library of Nigeria is not organising any prize competition or any activity for that matter, that requires participants to pay any fee for their entries and neither are we collaborating with any organisation(s) or individual(s) for such purpose, for now. We therefore dissociate the National Library from any of such prize competition or activity and warn the general public that anyone who is participating in such competition(s) does so at their own risk.
