24 dead, several missing in Nigeria boat accident. Tragedy struck in Niger state on sunday after a boat capsized in the mokwa  area of the state .the exact number of people on board the boat and the cause of the accident could not be confirmed as  of the time of filing in this report speaking with channels television call, channel through a telephone call, chairman of mokwa local government, jibrim muregi, confirmed the incident, saying rescue effort were ongoing. he confirmed that are dead bodies had been recovered, adding that three community members of Gbajibo, Ekwa and yankiade were also affected ''when contracted, the state police public relations offcier PPRO waqu. Abiodun confirmed the accident. he , however, said available information at the police disposal suggests that 13 people lost their lives.

Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa commiserated with the community and directed the State Director of Fire Service to remain on the ground until the fire was completely extinguished. Governor Okowa commended the Fire Service for the prompt response and advised the community to keep off from the scene, while President-General of Uwheru Kingdom, Macpherson Igbedi, appealed for more efforts to evacuate abandoned gas-laden tankers before they explode. Meanwhile, a gang of suspected armed robbers attacked a bullion van belonging to one of the new generation banks and carted away an undisclosed amount of money.

Twin babies, Hassana and Hussaina Barau, were crushed by an Abuja-bound train from Kaduna State while playing on the railway at Kuchiko village in the Bwari Area Council of the FCT. The victims were expected to celebrate their two-year birthday in July. The incident occurred around 10am on Saturday and was reported at the police outpost in Sabon-Bwari and later at the Sabon-Wuse Division in Tafa LGA of Niger State.
