The Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) has called on the federal government to reconsider its 'No Work, No Pay' policy against NARD members. NMA Chairman Dr. Charles Ugwuanyi urged the government to critically examine the policy, as it could lead to further complications and halt the system. The medical registry in Nigeria currently has over 100,000 registrable doctors, but as of April 2022, only 36,000 renewed their licenses, and less than 25,000 doctors are registered and practicing in the country.
