The Senate withheld the confirmation of Malam Nasir El-Rufai, Stella Okotete, and Senator Abubakar Danladi due to security screening. However, the upper chamber confirmed the appointment of 45 other ministerial nominees sent by President Bola Tinubu for screening. Festus Keyamo, a former Minister of State for Employment, Labour, and Productivity, was temporarily halted due to his disparaging comments on the ninth senate and his attitude towards National Assembly members. Deputy Minority Leader Darlington Nwokocha recalled the public works programme of 2020, stating that Keyamo had been running away from the issue. The president of the Senate proposed a time extension and a senate dissolve into executive session. Keyamo pleaded with lawmakers to forgive him for his past wrongdoings towards the National Assembly. The Senate unanimously agreed that Keyamo should be allowed to take his leave.
