In the Paso village market in the Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT, a man accused of stealing a motorbike was lynched on Saturday.Israel Musa, a witness, reported that the event took place at about 9 o'clock at night when a man named Kabiru parked his motorbike and walked inside to retrieve something.According to him, "the motorcycle thief was trailing the owner of the motorcycle right from the University Abuja Teaching Hospital's gate until he arrived in Paso and parked his motorcycle to rush into his house to pick something.""The suspect was unfortunate because two neighbours watching TV in front of their homes spotted him trying to steal the bike and called the police. He got off the motorbike and ran, but people chased him down and attacked him with rocks and logs until he collapsed.

The police in Bauchi State have arrested suspected kidnappers, including their informants, and rescued 10 of their victims in Burra Forest in Ningi LGA. The Commissioner of Police (CP), Auwal Musa Muhammad, who paraded the suspects alongside other criminals yesterday, said, “On the 2nd of July, 2023, the command successfully arrested six suspected kidnappers – four males and two females – including their informants, terrorising Burra village in Ningi LGA.” He named the six suspects as, “Hamisu Umaru (disabled), Ahmadu Abdullahi, Adamu Wada Tela, Usman Iliya and Rabi Tela Abdulmumini and Hajara Bello.

CP Muhammad further disclosed that, “On 31/7/2023 the operation continued to yield immense positive results which led to the rescue of another five kidnapped victims from different kidnappers’ enclaves in Burra Forest.

 

Crime - Bauchi State 

Delta State police have arrested two suspected child traffickers and a cultist in the Cable area of Asaba. A resident reported her child missing while playing with her sister. Orerokpe DPO, Ifeoma Sunday, identified Coco as a notorious cultist terrorizing the Aghalokpe community. The suspect was arrested, and a locally made single-barrel gun and expended cartridge were recovered.

An individual discovered with the dead body of his friend's child has been rescued by police officers from the Ilemba-Hausa Division of the Lagos State Police Command.The event occurred on Friday, when a guy who was accompanying a friend to go and bury his dead child was almost lynched when some neighbours noticed the corpse with him, according to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the command's spokesman, who confirmed the story."He claimed he was hired by the parents to assist with the child's burial and that he was on his way to do so when he was confronted by several locals who believed he had malicious intentions.The man's story was corroborated by the parents of the deceased child, who were invited to the station.
