The Women Technology Empowerment Centre in Nigeria has partnered with the Librarians Registration Council of Nigeria, the Universal Service Provision Fund, and the National Information Technology Development Agency to train public librarians on information and communication technology (ICT) to improve library operations. The training, which took place in six geopolitical zones, aimed to equip librarians with the necessary ICT skills to drive library operations and make them more relevant to the community. The training aimed to equip librarians with the knowledge to explore ICT solutions and make libraries more relevant to society. The feedback from participants showed that the training had been impactful, with many libraries lacking the necessary personnel and professional capacity. The training has made libraries more relevant to society and has helped them execute their activities effectively.
