Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has approved the immediate revocation of 165 plots of land in the serviced districts of the Federal Capital City. The action affected high-profile individuals such as Peter Obi, former Governor of Cross River State, and former Justice of Supreme Court and chairman of the National Political Reforms Conference. The Federal Capital Territory Permanent Secretary, Adesola Olusade, stated that the revoked plots belong to individuals and corporate organizations who have consistently failed to keep to the terms of agreement as contained in Section 28(5) (a) & (b) of the Land Use Act. The affected plots are situated within several districts in the Federal Capital City. Wike had previously vowed to revoke undeveloped plots and those whose ground rents had not been paid for years.
