These are not the best times fore low income Nigerians as the cost of 12.5 kilogrammes of liquefied petroleum gas, has risen by 30 percent in the last four months. the price of 12.5kg cooking gas, which was N9,600 in june, 2023 has jumped to N12,500 in october, an increase of30.2 percent. this is coming at a time Nigerians are yetr to come to terms with the removal of subsidy on petrol, amid volatile foreign exchange, rising cost of living, high cost of transpotation and volatile business environment. lamenting the situation,the executive secretary of NALPGAM, Bsassey Essein, sent the respone ofd the president of the association on the issue to Nigeria Tribune when contacted in lagos. this means that 12.5kg could go as Ni8,ooo''. he said terminal owners were ''hiding under the guise of high foreign exchange to increase the suffering of the masses'', stressing that there is no justification for the increment.
