Major listed brewers in Nigeria recorded combined revenues exceeding N1.54tn in the first nine months of 2025, reflecting strong consumer spending on beer and non-alcoholic beverages. Financial statements from Nigerian Breweries Plc, International Breweries Plc and Champion Breweries Plc show improved top-line performance, driven largely by beer sales and expanded distribution. Nigerian Breweries Plc led the market with N1.05tn in revenue and returned to profitability after losses in 2024. International Breweries Plc also posted a turnaround, recording profits following increased revenues and operational efficiencies. Champion Breweries Plc reported steady growth in sales and profitability, albeit on a smaller scale. Analysts attribute the sector’s resilience to strong brand loyalty, wide distribution networks and strategic investments, despite rising production costs and macroeconomic pressures. However, changing consumer behaviour and cost challenges continue to shape corporate strategies. Overall, the results underline the importance of the brewing industry in Nigeria’s manufacturing sector and consumer economy.
