First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu hosted a reception at the Presidential Villa in Abuja to honor the national women’s football team, the Super Falcons, praising their dedication, resilience, and unity during the International Federation of Association Football Women’s World Cup. Speaking alongside the wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shettima, and the wife of the Senate President, Mrs. Ekaette Akpabio, the First Lady highlighted that while the team did not secure the trophy, their outstanding performance on the global stage made them inspirational role models for young girls across Nigeria. In response, Nigerian Football Federation President Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau and team captain Onome Ebi thanked the First Lady for the recognition, with Ebi reaffirming the team’s commitment to working tirelessly and making the nation proud in future competitions.
