Govt, firm sign concession on 6MW Ikere Gorge hydropower project

The Federal Government and Quaint Energy signed a 30-year concession agreement for the 6MW Ikere Gorge Hydropower Project in Oyo State, a milestone in Nigeria's pursuit of sustainable and reliable power supply. Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, highlighted the decade-long negotiation process and emphasized the importance of these hydropower projects in enhancing energy access and stimulating local productivity. He asserted that the government aims to enable private sector growth through public-private partnerships, unlocking investments for projects that bolster energy security. Quaint Energy's chairman, Mr. Femi Adeyanju, committed to delivering the project on time, promising benefits for the local community.
