2027: Osun, Imo, Kano lead 2.3m voter pre-registrations On Sunday, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced that 2,316,232 individuals have completed online voter pre-registration in Nigeria. Osun state leads with 185,089 registrations, followed by Imo (143,386) and Kano (132,290). The update is part of INEC's efforts to ensure transparency in the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) process, representing completed registrations for the twelfth week. Registration is suspended in Anambra state until after the Governorship Election on November 8, 2025. Other notable figures include Sokoto (123,320), Lagos (109,693), and the Federal Capital Territory (106,855). The CVR is set to end in August 2026 and has shown increased participation from northern states due to enhanced voter awareness initiatives by community organizations and local leaders.
