Adeleke shuns Osun PDP primary as Adebayo emerges gov candidate

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke was absent during the PDP governorship primary, where Adedamola Adebayo secured the candidacy for the 2026 election with 919 votes from 957 delegates. A confrontation occurred after the election involving some lawmakers and an INEC official, resulting in an assault amidst claims of political interference by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde. Despite announcing his resignation from the PDP, Adeleke's name remained on the ballot.
