Tinubu Appoints Olumode as New Controller-General of Fire Service

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Olumode Samuel Adeyemi as the new Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service, taking effect on August 14, 2025. The announcement was made by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board, noting that Adeyemi succeeds the outgoing head, Abdulganiyu Jaji, who is retiring after reaching the age of sixty. Adeyemi moves into the top role with extensive leadership experience, having previously transitioned from the Federal Capital Territory Fire Service to run the human resources department at the national headquarters. Throughout his distinguished career, he has completed multiple mandatory command courses and advanced in-service training programs both within Nigeria and internationally. He also holds fellowships and memberships in several prominent professional bodies, including national associations for accounting, public administration, corporate administration, and treasury management.
