Minister Urges NNPC to Complete AKK, OB3 Pipeline Projects During a courtesy visit by the new leadership of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, led by Chairman Ahmadu Musa Kida and Group Chief Executive Officer Bayo Ojulari, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo, urged the team to prioritize completing the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano and the Obiafu-Obrikom-Oben gas pipeline projects alongside other critical national initiatives. Emphasizing Nigeria's vast untapped natural gas reserves estimated at two hundred and nine trillion cubic feet, the Minister called for leveraging these resources to drive domestic use and economic prosperity in alignment with President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda. He also emphasized the importance of international pipeline collaborations, boosting the gas sector following fuel subsidy removals, and promoting Compressed Natural Gas as an accessible and affordable alternative to Premium Motor Spirit, while the newly appointed executives pledged their full cooperation to achieve these national objectives.
