Ambassadorial List Ready for NASS Review After DSS Clearance

The Federal Government has concluded security and background checks on nominees for diplomatic roles across its one hundred and nine missions globally, yet the transmission of a consolidated list to the National Assembly by President Bola Tinubu remains delayed. Although the vetting process by agencies such as the Department of State Services is complete, the rollout has been stalled by financial constraints estimated at one billion dollars needed for capital expenditure, arrears, and mission renovations, alongside the President's reluctance to divert funds from pressing domestic reforms, lingering international pressure, and last-minute adjustments to the list of career and political ambassadorial nominees.
