Nigerian military troops operating under Operation Fansan Yamma killed a son of the notorious terrorist leader Bello Turji and several of his fighters during a coordinated clearance and air operation in Zamfara State. The military stated that the engagement destroyed a major terrorist logistics base in the region and successfully rescued multiple kidnapped victims who were being held captive. While calling out the terrorist leader for a cowardly escape that left his family and fighters behind, the troops also conducted a separate raid in the Zango-Kagara Forest targeting another insurgent commander, neutralizing three fighters, arresting suspected collaborators, and recovering weapons alongside hundreds of rustled livestock.
