N935/Litre Petrol: Labour Faults New Price, Demands Further Reduction

Despite recent reductions in the pump price of petrol—bringing costs down to nine hundred and thirty-five naira per litre through a partnership between the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and MRS, and nine hundred and sixty-five naira per litre at Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited outlets—the Nigeria Labour Congress and civil society organizations remain dissatisfied, arguing that fuel prices are still excessively high and do not fairly reflect local refining realities or true production costs, while many independent marketers continue selling older, higher-priced stock.
