The Association of Librarians of Nigerian Universities (AULNU) on 16th January, 2023, paid a courtesy visit to the National Librarian, Prof. Chinwe Veronica Anunobi at the corporate headquarters of the National Library of Nigeria, Abuja.  Â
Speaking during the visit, the association’s Chairman, Prof. Jubrin Hassan, who led the team, informed the National Librarian that the visit was to congratulate her for being the first university Librarian to be appointed the National Librarian. He said that it is their expectation that she would use her good office to push the National Library of Nigeria as well as the library profession to an enviable height. Â
The Chairman also appreciated the National Librarian/CEO for identifying with the programmes of the association and encouraged her to do more. She was commended for the digitalisation of library resources and other visible impact she is already making in the organisation.
Responding, Prof. Chinwe Anunobi thanked the association for their visit, reiterating that the National Library of Nigeria is a bibliographic centre where bibliographic class mark, just like the Library of Congress, are developed to aid the classification of Nigerian indigenous materials.
Prof. Anunobi charged the association to be innovative and to always demonstrate capacity in the practice of librarianship, which is the only way to succeed.
